Assessment, Recording and Reporting of Children's Progress
The programmes of study within the National Curriculum have set out expectations at the end of each key stage. At Pikes Lane, we have developed a curriculum relevant to our pupils that teaches this content, as well a teaching children many other important skills and knowledge.
We use an assessment system in school which enables us to track children's results in core subjects through school using scaled scores. Children scoring a scaled score of between 80 and 99 are working towards National Standard. Children working between 100 and 109 are working at National Standard. Children working between 110 and 120 are working above National Standard.
Every pupil registered in school has certain records which cover curriculum reports, academic achievements, other skills and abilities and progress in school. Information held in these records is available to parents of the child if a written request is made. Only parents have this right of access and the school will respond within 15 days of the written request.
A written report on every pupil from Reception to Year 6 is issued to parents in the Summer Term. Parents are invited into class to discuss their child's progress and attainment at least twice every year.
If you are not sure about anything concerned with school, PLEASE COME AND ASK and we will do our very best to help.
