Drama is both an important teaching tool, which we use to add flare to and increase engagement in learning, across the curriculum and also an important art form in its self. Pupils take part in drama classes, led by our head of creative arts, who has over 12 years experience teaching primary school drama as a specialist.
Pupils combine technology and performance to make short films, devise plays and create multimedia stories.
Speaking and listening skills are particular important to our pupils and we always aim to ensure that our pupils are very confident public speakers, actors and performers. We have extra-curricular drama clubs that run for both Key Stages and the highest quality, state of the art staging, lighting and performing facilities. The highlight of our drama calendar is the end of Year 6 leaver’s performance, which is always a wonderful display and celebration of pupil achievements, before they move on to secondary school.
