Our teachers receive regular training and updates on 'Arts Education' to ensure that pupils experience the best possible teaching across a range of art forms. Pupils use art in a cross-curricular way and explore and develop their skills in: drawing, painting, 3D sculpture, textiles, ICT, printing and collage. Each year pupils work with specialist workshop leaders and take part in an exciting art week. Previous art weeks have explored the themes of: ‘environmental awareness’, ‘The history of the school and local community.’ and ‘What makes Britain great’?.
In several of our pupils have won awards in local competitions and we run a range of contests, clubs and extra-curricular activities. We always have a range of pupils art on display across school and regularly hold events where parents can attend to see art work that has been created by pupils. We also take art out into the local community and have displayed at galleries in Bolton Town Centre and Bolton University.
For more information about our awards and achievements take a look at the 'Creative Arts' tab.
